If I should start a new thread, please let me know.
After a 2-week gap, I signed back into my WordPress blog today, to find that half of my extended last draft has disappeared. I’ve looked through the support forums and have found many people with disappearing-draft problems. The solutions proposed typically sound straightforward, but there are many, many embedded steps that I as a nontechnical user do not find intuitive. For instance, I can’t figure out how to find out what version my “core” is. The instructions for upgrading to WordPress 4.0 don’t seem to apply to me as a blogger using a WordPress Pro site – I don’t know whether I even have WordPress installed or am just using WordPress’s own hosting. Then I’m told I’d better back up my site before trying to upgrade, but the instructions for how to back up require me to figure out what FTP and php and so forth are, and how to manipulate them. It’s a rabbit hole that will take hours to figure out and execute! All I want to do is get my previous drafts back where they were supposed to be.
OK, sorry about the rant. Is there an easy way to get my drafts back that somehow I’ve missed in my searches?
My site is naturalpresencearts.com. Thanks SO much for any help you can offer in simplifying all this – I thought I was sort of experienced, but it looks like I’m actually a raw novice. ??
