I was recently asked about a large multisite installation with 600 sites in the network. Caching content with static pages was needed to alleviate the strain on a shared hosting plan.

After trying another caching plugin (which I won’t name, this review is about this plugin) this one was tried. It just worked out of the box and after being network activated and some very basic configuration that was it. The sites were being cached.

While the initial setup is very simple, there are many options available in the www.ads-software.com Comet Cache repo version. It makes good caching decisions by default, it is smart enough to not cache 404 replies (as a simple example).

When the plugin detects a change to invalidate the cache, it just does it. You can turn on this plugin and just make changes to your site. It will send the visitor the correct content.

I have this plugin installed on my small multisite (6 sites). I never have to tune it or even be aware that it’s there. That’s the best experience for a person administrating their WordPress site. The plugin is not obstructive in anyway. It just works.

Well, we should all review plugins we use. ??

This one is really unobtrusive. I literally forgot I was using it, it’s that good.
