Quick edit attributes

The quick edit view for products is displaying available attributes. When I edit an attribute in the quick edit view it doesn’t add the attribute to the product. All other options in quick edit work fine and also adding attributes in the full edit product page also works.

Has anyone else experience this issue or have any suggestions?

Edit: If I change an the value of an attribute that has already been set in the full edit view then the changes are saved. It’s only when trying to assign a new attribute to the product.

The changes also seem to show up if I refresh and go back in to the quick edit. But these changes aren’t visible in the full edit view or the product data.
