    Hi David

I am a long-time MLA user and LOVE it.

Strangely, the quick edit has suddenly stopped working when updating Att. Categories. The ‘Update’ button simply doesn’t do the job—ie Update!Equally the ‘Cancel’ button doesn’t do anything. (FYI I do get a flash of code, bottom left, in Firefox, ending mla-menu#inline-edit)

    The full’Edit’ system works fine.

    Any suggestions??

    With thanks in anticipation

    Stephen

Good to hear from you again, and thanks for your report.

I just ran a quick test on my system and both Microsoft Edge and Firefox have no problems with the Media/Assistant Quick Edit area. I was able to add and remove Att. Categories terms without errors.

You mentioned a “flash of code”. Try opening up the Firefox Web Console to see if there are more error messages or information. You can try “Ctrl+shift+K” or click the “hamburger menu”, click Web Developer and then Web Console to open the console.

With the console open, try your Quick Edit again and let me know if you get any messages in the console that will help me investigate further.

You can also try the Bulk Edit area. Check the box to the left of the thumbnail image, select Edit from the Bulk Actions dropdown and click Apply. The try adding a term to the item and clicking Update to apply the change.

Any additional information you can provide will be helpful. Thanks for your help and your long-standing interest in the plugin.

    Hi David

Thanks for your amazing support & lovely attitude—so welcome at any time, but especially as this world gets an unfriendlier place day-by-day (or am I just getting old. Probably that!)

FYI bulk editor works fine with Att. Categories

A screenshot with code warnings can be seen here https://www.ukphotography.co.uk/mla-problem.PNG

Tried same operation using Opera (browser) and hit same problems, so I don’t think it is a Firefox problem.

The strange thing is that it has been working fine until now. I have deleted and then reinstalled MLA to see if that helped (it didn’t)

Screenshot of my other plugins here FYI: https://www.ukphotography.co.uk/Plugins.PNG

Thanks again & hopes this helps

    Best!

PS MLA works fine on another server/Wordpress-install of mine. That being said, I don’t think it is the server set-up at fault as it used to work fine

Thanks for your updates, the kind words and for your patience while I was traveling. Thanks as well for posting the screen shots; very helpful.

Regarding the “code warnings”, I get somewhat different results on my system using Firefox. The first “non standard property” message appears, but it appears on all the WordPress admin screens I tried so I don’t think it is MLA related. The other three messages do not appear on my system. Did you click the Update or Cancel buttons before taking the shot? If not, try that.

It looks like you are using the Divi theme and some add-ons. Have you tried deactivating the three Divi add-ons long enough to try another test? Does the other server/install use the same theme and plugins?

You wrote that “Cancel” doesn’t work, either. Does that mean it does not close the Quick Edit area when clicked? If you open the area and then immediately click Cancel, does that work? Does it work up to the point you click “Update”, and then stops working?

Sorry to be grasping at these straws. Any additional details would help. Thanks for your patience.

It has been six weeks since my last post in this topic. I hope you have found a solution for the Quick Edit problem.

I am marking this topic resolved, but please update it if you are still having trouble and have any further information I can use to investigate further.
