• Hi

I have a WP site I am using as a website not a blog.

Is there a good plugin that will allow the pages to appear as say

    name.com/pages.php or name.com/pages

rather than with numbers and dates etc.

I would imagine this will help search engine listing aswell.

    Thanks guys !!!

putting an extension like .php on something doesnt do anything to help with SEO. We’re way past that simplistic idea.

Secondly, you dont need a plugin for the rest of what you described. Pages can be called anything you like.

    Hi

Yes Whooami ‘still going on about this’, as no-ones actually taken the time to give me the answer in the ‘how to’ part of the forum.Just you with:

‘ermm, and why do you want to add a .php extension? just curious as to what you are trying to achieve, and why.’

    well .com/index.php/pagename is just ugly.

    As you will notice from

I couldn’t care less about the SEO. I just need the output pages to be like a website not a blog. I thought if I tried a diiferent approach and looked at plugins there might be an answer there.

Its surely a very common thing to do when using WP as a CMS, and therefore there must be a simplistic answer, you’d think.

As I mentioned I’ve have several people on other forums (the Designers Talk guys have really tried) with some good suggestions, but the problem hasn’t been solved !

Apparently it might be an issue with the htaccess content, as as the moment it has none.
