Quick Query on Nix Prefix

    Hello Sarah! I am closing in on my first WP blog and more page; very exciting. One niggly problem I am suffering from is the ever present word “Category” in the blog header. Mine is a news site, so Section is more what I had in mind. I am not a code person but do follow directions well. Plugins are easier though…so…will your plugin remove that nasty little category from my title headers or is this only for the archives?

    My theme is 2015, and I have not upgraded to 4.8 yet out of abject fear it will trash my work to date. My files are backed up every fifteen minutes though.

    Hello Bruce,

    That is exciting! Happy to hear you’ve got a good backup system in place as well—makes it a great deal harder to lose your work in case anything goes awry.

    I did a quick test on this. Here’s a Twentyfifteen category archive page without the plugin installed:

    and here it is with the plugin:

    It looks like the word “category” doesn’t appear in the title bar in either case. Was that what you were referring to, or maybe am I missing something? ??

    Yay!!! <<<incredible office happy dance>>> It did exactly what I needed!

    I really did not want the word category everywhere, and frankly they should recode WP to give us the option to type in a prefix or at least toggle it off. BUT I have Nix Prefix and I am looking so good.

    Thank you thank you! Stay safe, if you ever need to hide out, head to Scotland, with your bonny rd hair you will fit right in. Beware of the native cuisine though, we tend towards the coarser side of food.

    I am excited to be so close, it has been a long haul but the site will be worth the effort.
