When using The Event Calendar with the Fork theme I get some quirky behaviour.

Firstly, I used the old style form for creating events, which I prefer to the rather undeveloped block editor version, but events created using the old style form editor only display the title and description, no other data. If I select the block editor in settings, and round trip the event through the editor without altering any data, the event page will then show up all the details. It then doesn’t seem to matter whether I am using the block editor or form editor to maintain the event, it stays with the extra information, location, time etc.

Is there a sneaky flag in the database somewhere deciding what TEC template version to use with a Site Editor template?

PS Events Shortcodes For The Events Calendar plugin events list always sows consistent data in the events list.

OK, had a nose around and found the flag in the meta settings for the page. I’m not convinced the way you create the data should effect how you display the data, it surely should be a site wide flag to decide whether the system is using block templates or classic templates. As a novice, it has certainly confused me as to what templates I need to be fiddling with to get the data displayed how I’d like it with the theme.

    Hi @ianmspencer

Thanks for reaching out. Let me help you with this one.

There could be a plugin/theme conflict on your end. Have you tried running a conflict test??I suggest conducting these tests on a Staging Server.

If that doesn’t help, could you provide the version of the following? This will help me understand how your system is set up.

    • PHP
    • WordPress
    • The Events Calendar
    • Theme
