Yesterday one of my students sent me a message that several quizzes seemed to be the same. And he was totally correct! Three quizzes in the same course now show the same questions! When looking into the database I can see that all three lessons have their own quizzes with their own ID. But the IDs for the correct_answer, wrong_answers, and question order all point to questions in the same quiz. Even worse all prior submissions also now point to the same quiz. Fortunately, all answers are intact! But going to the grading page now show me alternatives from one quiz but student answers from the original (correct) quiz.

Downloaded a copy to my local machine and tried to remove all questions in one of the quizzes that showed wrong questions. If I remove all questions and then add back all of the old (correct) ones it still shows the wrong questions. If I remove all but one question, save. Add back the old questions, save, remove the last faulty question. I can get my quiz questions back!

Now in a process of writing a script that rewrites the IDs for the content in the lessons, the quiz questions and for all submitted answers…

Anyone else who have had something similar? Or any tips on how to solve it in another way?

Hi @hliljegren – apologies that we are just now replying. This definitely isn’t something that should be happening? Did you ever manage to get it sorted? Or is there still something that we can help with?
