• i realized that when i enter quotation marks and apostrophs wordpress is converting them into wrong ones.
wordpress seems to use " instead of (in my case) „ in front and “ after the word/sentence and ´ instead of '
i’d like to know how to change that to the quotation marks and apostrophs i need and add a request to include a solution for that into the next release ??
additionally i’d like to request another thing: when using an umlaut in a title (with according permalinks activated) the umlaut will be transformed into a single letter (?¤ becomes a) whereas it would be better to convert it into the two-letter version of an umlaut (?¤ would become ae)

  • Try a search for curly quotes – some of the topics will have solutions for quotes.

actually it’s not about curly quotes, it’s about proper quotes ??
i just don’t get it, why do i have to take a plugin that (might) output proper quotes – and does a lot more that i actually don’t need – when wordpress itself should do that already. i mean it has valid css and xhtml output, why not valid typography. i hope you know where i’m getting at =)
