Quoting another post, isn’t working

I posted another post here about our attachments not working when inserting into posts. That post went into moderation but I don’t see it listed here – it was how we weren’t getting our attachments to “insert into post”. The “working” animation kept going.

We also have an issue where an attempt to quote another post also had the “working” animated icon spinning and spinning.

Are these related?

Also, is there a way to adding links within text. For example: to link to another blog post, or an Amazon affiliate link? Is there an add-on for formatting links without using HTML?
