I’m not sure what you would call this, let me describe it.

When writing your own thoughts or opinion on a blog it appears naturally.

However, I have seem many blogs who quote another source such as a newspaper article and it is place in a highlighted “box” area so as to separate it as written by someone else.

Can anyone help me with this? Is it a plugin or something already built into WP.

    Thanks,

    Don

thats called a blockquote, and yes theyre built in. Look at the little boxes above your write post box.

Please excuse my current WP ignorance.

“blockquote, and yes theyre built in. Look at the little boxes above your write post box.”

I went to “write post” and see no boxes or links to create a blockquote. If this is built in I don’t see it.

    Thanks again,

    Don

Using the WYSIWYG editor? 7th icon from the left. Hover over it to see “Indent/Blockquote”

Yes found it under “ident/blockquote (alt-q)”

Once I publish or save the post I get the highlighting according to my theme colors which is great.

Thanks so much everyone. I appreciate your help.

    Don
