    Hi there,

by our non-profit I was tasked to set up a very simple sign up sheet for an event, but it has to include radio buttons where each option is only available X times and cannot be picked / is greyed out when the maximum number of people have picked this option.

Is this something that can be done with your plugin?
    Thanks and kind regards
    Jenny

    Hi @miss-newyork

I hope you are doing well today.

By default, you can use the Lifespan feature and set up Expiry as 20 submissions only for example:
    https://wpmudev.com/docs/wpmu-dev-plugins/forminator/#lifespan

Does that cover your request? Or maybe you would like to block only that 1 item for 20 submissions and still allow submit the form after that item is blocked?

    Kind Regards,
    Kris

Hi Kris, thanks for your reply.

The original idea is this: imagine a large party and a signup sheet for who brings what. To make sure that not everyone brings the same there’s supposed to be a set of radio buttons with the different options and how much is needed, i.e. “potatoe salad” (1x), “sausages” (20x), “bottles of beer” (10x), and so on. When someone has picked the potatoe salad it’s then greyed out, but the other options can still be chosen. Does that make sense?

I hadn’t discovered the “lifespan” setting yet, but that might be a last resort workaround. But then there would have to be a separate form for each option ?!?

    Hi @miss-newyork

    Thank you for response!

Yes, it makes sense but radio buttons do not support that kind of setup yet.

You can set such limits for Select fields though:

    – add a “Select” field to the form
    – set all your options there like “potato salad”, “sausages” and so on
    – switch to “Settings” tab and set “Limit Submission” option to “Enable”
    – get back to “labels” settings and there for each option you can set limit of how many times it can be submitted.

So if you e.g. set “potato salad” option to 2 but “sausages” to 20 then the “potato salad” will be not available for selection anymore after it’s been selected and submitted two times already but “sausages” option will still be available.

Note that the “Select” field can be set to “Singel” or “Multiple” selection but those limits work the same and can be set in both cases.

    I’m glad I could help!

I’ll mark this as resolved then but if you come up with any follow-up questions about it, let us know, please.
