Radio input for category taxonomy

If it is, it sounds like it’s outside the scope of what Custom Post Type UI handles, to be honest.

I would need screenshots of exactly what you’re referring to to give a more complete answer or assurance.

Aha, for that, those are checkboxes, not radio buttons. That explains why I was confused.

To get your taxonomy with checkboxes, you need to set the taxonomy to be hierarchical. That way it has parent/child relationship properties like you’re seeing in the screenshot.
