• For some reason, WordPress (1.2) has been chopping off the last tag in my post, but only doing so randomly- i.e. it may happen for one post, but not for all of them.
Furthermore, it’ll only happen for “accepted” tags – and the </> doesn’t solve it, it just gets inserted and is ignored by the browser and wordpress. I’ve tried turning off various text formatting plugins (Texile, Markdown, modified versions of each) and it doesn’t seem to do anything.
This is giving me a bit of grief, but because it only occurs intermittently I’ve learnt to live with it. Just curious if anyone else had this issue, or if anyone knows what may be causing it?

  • Can you give us an example of when this happens?, with a post where this happened – what you typed in, and what actually got posted, so to speak.

My guess is that you have this option set: “WordPress should correct invalidly nested XHTML automatically” (Admin page -> Options menu -> Writing submenu). In certain circumstances it may do what you describe. I’ve documented some of the issues with that setting.
To test for certain: disable the setting, go back to the post you were having problems with, fix it, and save it. If it came out alright, then that setting was the culprit. Please do give us an idea of what precisely went wrong when the setting was on, or point us to the post and tell us what tag got chopped off.
