• Resolved Snaggers

    Hi,
I have recently installed W3 Total Cache and am testing it before I decide if I should install it on my production site.
Most of the time it seems to work quite well, but occasionally I will get random characters (shown in attached image https://imgur.com/a/iH4Rxlv) when I load the home page. If I “CTRL-F5” in the browser it will fix the issue, but a few days later it occurs again.
It does not occur all the time, but once every few days.
I have tried turning minification off, but did not resolve the issue. I am running the latest version of wordpress, W3 total cache, etc. I’m not running a CDN.
    Any suggestions would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Andrew

    Hello @snaggers

Thank you for reaching out and I am happy to assist you with this. Since it’s a random problem it’s hard to replicate and troubleshoot the issue. However, Once I visited your website I was able to see what you are referring to.

Most likely the issue is with bad content encoding. meaning the gzip compression may be causing this as there is potentially some other – double compression enabled somewhere else, like some other plugin or server side.

Try disabling gzip compression in the Browser Cache settings, save all settings and purge the cache and see if the problem persists.

    Thanks!
