• Hi,

I have been desperately looking for a plugin I was confident would be in abundance.

I’m building a WP theme for a friend’s site and he wanted a random image to rotate in a side bar widget. His ideal source of this image would just be whatever comes up from google images for a specific search term.

I was sure this type of thing exists but I can’t find it for the life of me. I am now asking the community if you have heard of such a plugin?

The ideal functionality would be to define the search term when adding the widget to the sidebar. Maybe even a dropdown with a few jquery transitions to choose from but I would honestly be happy with a new one on page load.

Anyway, thanks in advance for any info or insight about this!

Update: The closest I can find to a solution so far is using an RSS feed of the Google Image search in a side bar widget. The problem now, is that Google Images does not offer an RSS of the search anymore and instead require me to use their Google Custom Search API to get the data I need…

Since I have no clue how to develop on that level, this feels like a dead end.
