• I have a Tarot website which allows users to randomly draw a tarot card. On desktop, your plugin works perfect, each time I click on “draw a new card” on the homepage (https://random-tarot-card.com), there’s a completely random card on the results page (https://random-tarot-card.com/your-results-are-ready/).

However, when trying it our on mobile (any mobile device – I checked iphones, androids, pixels, etc), the random content feature doesn’t work as expected. When I click on “draw a new card”, and then repeat the proccess in the same session, I keep getting the same card. Can you please check this ASAP?

I want my mobile users (majority of traffic), will get a different card each time they draw.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Hello @atalyadaphna I’ve tried with a desktop and Chrome browser and image has changed only one time during a lot of tests and attempts.

Considering that Random plugin retrieve posts with standard WordPress posts reading functions, and they does not depend on device used, I suppose that the cause is some cache plugin installed on your website.
Maybe it works on your desktop because caching is excluded for logged users or admins. It is a common setting.
Otherwise it could be a cache function directly provided by your hosting.
In both cases usually you can specify the page to exclude from cache (https://random-tarot-card.com/your-results-are-ready/).

Let me know if it helps.

Hi there, I’m actually using “Random” to retrieve pages, not blog posts, but I’m guessing the functionality is the same.

Can you explain this – “In both cases usually you can specify the page to exclude from cache” – do you have maybe guidance on how to exclude this page from cache?

    Thanks in advance!

Hello @atalyadaphna and sorry for delay,

unfortunately there are so many services and plugins that provide cache functionality that I cannot give you clear informations about how to exclude the page from cache.
Are you using some cache plugin? Which one? (for example W3 total cache, WP-Optimize, WP fastest cache, …)
