Random Order in Portfolio Category
-
Hi
I’m using a portfolio template to show members of a group…for fairness I want to randomize / randomise (UK spelling) or shuffle the order of the artist’s pages in the portfolio loop.
The portfolio template is different to categories so can’t just use –
‘-
<?php
$args = array( ‘numberposts’ => 5, ‘orderby’ => ‘rand’ );
$rand_posts = get_posts( $args );
foreach( $rand_posts as $post ) : ?>- “><?php the_title(); ?>
<?php endforeach; ?>
‘
Below, here, is the code I want to randomize. Apologies for my understanding here but you would really help our page. Thanks. N – https://www.intervalbristol.org/artists/
‘<?php
/*
Template Name: Portfolio, Four Columns
*/
?><?php get_header(); ?>
<?php global $pinboard_page_template; ?>
<?php $pinboard_page_template = ‘template-portfolio-four-col.php’; ?>
<?php if( pinboard_get_option( ‘location’ ) ) : ?>
<?php pinboard_current_location(); ?>
<?php endif; ?>
<div id=”container”>
<section id=”content” class=”column onecol”>
<?php pinboard_category_filter( pinboard_get_option( ‘portfolio_cat’ ) ); ?>
<?php $args = array(‘orderby’ => ‘rand’, ‘cat’ => pinboard_get_option( ‘portfolio_cat’ ), ‘posts_per_page’ => get_option( ‘posts_per_page’ ), ‘paged’ => max( 1, get_query_var( ‘paged’ ) ) ); ?>
<?php global $wp_query, $wp_the_query; ?>
<?php $wp_query = new WP_Query( $args ); ?>
<?php if( $wp_query->have_posts() ) : ?>
<div class=”entries”>
<?php while( $wp_query->have_posts() ) : $wp_query->the_post(); ?>
<?php get_template_part( ‘content’, get_post_format() ); ?>
<?php endwhile; ?>
</div><!– .entries –>
<?php pinboard_posts_nav(); ?>
<?php else : ?>
<?php pinboard_404(); ?>
<?php endif; ?>
<?php wp_reset_postdata(); ?>
<?php $wp_query = $wp_the_query; ?>
</section><!– #content –>
<div class=”clear”></div>
</div><!– #container –>
