    Hi there,

https://emperifolla.com/ is not using the Jetpack plugin. That site is hosted on WordPress.com.

What is the URL of your site where you’re seeing these network requests?

You won’t be able to see the error if you visit the site as it only shows up while logged into the WP admin dashboard, but one of my sites that is experiencing this is https://www.getautomated.net/

I see you’re using Jetpack 8.9.1, which is not supported.

Is there any improvement under Jetpack 9.0.2?

As noted in my original post, I have 3 sites and upgraded one of them to 9.0.2 and the issue was still present. I have now also upgraded the site I linked above (getautomated.net) to 9.0.2 and it still has the same issue.

Does the issue continue if you disable the Notifications module? https://jetpack.com/support/control-jetpack-features-on-one-page/

    EDIT: I misread the instructions.

Yes, disabling the Notifications Module does seem to stop the issue I outlined from happening.

    Thanks for checking that.

I notice the site you gave above is associated with a completely different WordPress.com account than the one that owns the site mentioned in those notifications.

Does the site at https://emperifolla.com/ have anything to do with you? If that is also your site, do these network calls only happen when you’re logged into that site’s WordPress.com account? Or does it also happen when you’re logged into the WordPress.com account that owns the Jetpack connection for https://www.getautomated.net/?

Right, so that’s the whole reason for my concern. I have ZERO connections, affiliations with, or anything to do with emperifolla.com. I’ve never seen the site or URL in my life until I noticed these errors.

I have three separate websites that all have their own jetpack accounts (via 3 separate email addresses), but despite that separation, each of them was having the same error that included the reference to emperifolla.com.

Okay, so short answer – you don’t need to be concerned, your site hasn’t been compromised.

I did some digging and it looks like this might be related to a brief issue with WordPress.com’s API, that’s used for Jetpack notifications, early in September. I’ve asked the developers who worked on that if there’s anything we can do to stop your site making these network requests. I’ll get back to you as soon as I have more information.

Ok great, thank you for the update, that makes me feel a lot better. If you need any additional information from me, just let me know.

I’ve heard back from a developer, and they’ve confirmed this issue has already been fixed, but your browser is still making these requests due to data remaining in the local cache.

So completely clearing your browser cache should stop this. Let me know if that doesn’t help.

I cleared the cache and the issue is gone on all 3 sites now. Thank you for all the help!
