• Trying to figure out how to either get a decent working plugin or maybe someone knows how to create a php function that displays a random tagline? The ideal scenario would be that I add a tagline per line in a .txt file and this function reads from the file grabs a tagline and displays it.

There are a few plugins out there but they might be too antiquated and not working or their instructions aren’t very good. One of the plugins, which sounds like exactly what I need, isn’t working based on the instructions provided.

Anyway, I’d sure appreciate some guidance or a pretty function!

  • I’ve got an older plugin here that I’ve been tinkering with to try and bring it up to spec. It does exactly as you described. It’s been a while since I had a look at it but you’re welcome to what I do have.

Drop me a line via https://quirm.net/contact/ and I’ll bundle up what I have. It might give you a bit of a head start.

FYI, if you have caching enabled, it will not play well with a random tagline. You need to pick one or the other.
