Randomizing of Question is not Working (new 2022)

    Hello Dylan,

    I’m back after more than a year of eclipse on this forum ??
    Everything is OK for me.
    But as you can see the title of this post, randomizing of question is not working. I read the old post of ksdhillon28, but I created this new one.

    To sum up the situation :
    – I have 2 “twins” websites with HDQuiz : ooxo.com and ooxo.net
    – PHP version is he same (7.4), the server is the same one
    – One of the websites is http and the other is https (the one with the bug)
    – I use version 1.8.3
    – I use the same template for the 2 websites
    – The randomizing of answers order inside one question works well. But just one of my 2 websites can’t randomize the questions. The bug is on ALL the quizzes (of the “bad” website ooxo.com).

    I tried a lot of things :
    – I disabled the plugins one after the other
    – I tried to modifiy the style of HDQuiz
    – I transfert ALL the HDQuiz files from the good website to the other
    – I tried to modify parameters in HDQuiz (number of questions, template…)
    – I tried many times with 2 browsers (without cache)
    – I tried with my (self) modified HDQuiz extension and with your original HDQuiz extension
    – I tried on an iPhone and on an iPad
    – I looked on the websites with Filezilla to search cache files (I erased one of another plugin)
    – I tried to activate and disable the cache system of WP-Optimize plugin
    – Maybe I forger other “tests” ??

    But nothing worked to reactivate the randomizing of the question.

    LIVE ?? It works again !
    Before sending this post, I compared the plugins used by both websites. And at the last minute, i found the plugin who sows trouble was installed on the “bad” website. Everything works correctly now for HDQuiz. But I post this message to be useful to future users.

    THE ANSWER IS : Post Types Order. This plugin blocks the randomizing of questions in HDQuiz ??
    I activated, deactivated, reactivated…
    Thanks a lot, I really relieved to have found the solution by myself at the last minute ! He’s the culprit ??

    Hi michel92,
    thanks for posting your findings/results here. Might be useful for anyone else who comes across this. Looks like that CPT plugin has a feature to force ASC or DESC ordering for posts – but they are overriding ALL queries instead of just their own!

    For anyone else who has an issue with random order – something else to check is page caching. Since caching will create a static version of the page – it will always show the questions in the same order. You will have to disable caching on whatever page you need to show random content on.
