• Hello,

this plugin was installed at the beginning of July on a site with good performance and traffic. By the end of the month, the traffic dropped about 50%! Basically all pages took the hit.

So, it could be either of this plugin or because of a CDN plugin that was installed at the same time. Which is…unlikely.

Now, I see there are people that has issues with rank dropping after installing this plugin, so I suggest you have a look at the issue. Also, btw, tagging links as “rank math” class…idk what that is about, anyway?

    Regards,
    Martin

    Hello @imartin1983

    That’s really unfortunate.

A plugin can not drop rankings unless it is configured incorrectly.

When you moved, did you follow this guide to ensure that all the data was moved to Rank Math correctly?
    https://www.matthewwoodward.co.uk/seo/reviews/rank-math/
    or one of our guides?
    https://rankmath.com/kb/how-to-setup/

If everything was fine, it seems like your website was hit by one of the Google updates. You can check the latest Google updates here:

    https://www.semrush.com/sensor/
    and
    https://moz.com/google-algorithm-change

If you can share the URL of your website, we would be in a better position to analyze and help.

You can easily remove that class from your links by adding the following filter:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/filters-hooks-api-developer/#remove-rank-math-link-class

That class is needed as the plugin has an option to add a NoFollow tag to the links.

If you feel like using the plugin again or want us to diagnose it, please open a new support topic with us here:

We would be more than happy to assist.

    Take care!
