Hi Team with the great plugin!

Are there any known issues relating the two plugins (W3 Total Cache and Rank Math) in the same installation?

I ‘m planning to use both plugins, yours for SEO the site and the other one for Caching.

After my search here in the forum I didn find anyone raise an issue but on google search I found an issue someone had with an error message in his/her Google Webmaster Tools: “Your file appears to be an HTML page” and you suggest them to, create another user agent group with user agent ‘googlebot’ in W3 Total Cache plugin’s options, as a solution to this problem.

As I understand both plugins use/create sitemaps.

Are there any other known issues regarding the operability of these two plugins in the same WP site?

Is there a guide somewhere to have a look, before proceeding in this form of installation to my site or a general guidance for optimal settings to avoid a conflict with these both plugins in the same installation?

    Thanx in advance

    Hello @xpanos

Thank you for contacting the support.

    Please add the following code:

    sitemap(_index)?\.xml(\.gz)?
    [a-z0-9_\-]*sitemap[a-z0-9_\-]*\.(xml|xsl|html)(\.gz)?
    ([a-z0-9_\-]*)?\.xml

    To these areas:
Performance > Page Cache > Never cache the following pages
    Performance Database Cache
    Performance > Minify
    Performance > Browser Cache
    404 error exception list

Once added, please clear the cache. That should help.

If you need any further assistance, please let us know. We are here to help.

    Thanx for the fast response.

1.Where exactly to add this code. On your plugin settings or in W3 Total cache?
    2.What exactly does that code?
3.If I add it which plugin will create the sitemap, Rank Math or W3 Total Cache?
4.Are there any optimal settings between Rank Math and W3 Total cache in order to use them both for better SEO ranking and Caching?

    Hello @xpanos @rankmath

It’s Marko, W3 Total Cache suppot.
@xpanos the mentioned code need to be added to W3 Total Cache support as suggested by @rankmath.
Adding this code to the mentioned fields prevents the sitemap from being cached.
W3 Total Cache does not create a sitemap as W3TC is a caching plugin.
    I hope this helps!

    Hello @xpanos

Here are the answers to your questions:
    1. Those are the settings pages of the W3 Total Cache plugin.
    2. This code instructs W3 Total to exclude the Sitemap files from caching which is likely the cause of the error you are seeing.
    3. The Rank Math plugin creates Sitemaps. W3 Total is a caching plugin.
    4. While we are at it, we highly recommend going through the following guides to set up the plugin completely and correctly:

    Dear Bhanu and Rank Math,
Thanx a lot for the clarification and the tips you provide above. Really need it! ??

Just to let you know that in my second(2.) question I didn’t find any problem (yet) as I haven’t complete the installation on both plugins at my site.
Do you advise me to add that code either ways or should I add it only if I face a problem?
