Rank Unlock by Points Threshold

I am trying to set certain Ranks to unlock and award automatically when a user reaches a certain amount of points. I have looked and tried for a while now and can’t figure out how to do it? There is an option to “Allow reach with points” It says underneath “Amount of points needed to optionally reach this rank by expending them.” Expending them?? I don’t want them to expend points like they are buying their rank, I want it to be applied automatically when they reach a certain points.

For example:
1st lieutenant Rank should be awarded once the user gets 25 points

Can you show me what I am doing wrong??
