I think that if you are using rankmath and therefore not redirection (as rankmath also has included redirection) that the images once renamed are not redirecting.

I have just done a lot of renaming and notice the 404 jumped crazily. looking at it i can see that it is image file name urls that are not being redirected to the new file name url.

You wouldnt want two plugins doing redirections, so i am going to remove phoenix (also another issue with urls now appearing on a page with an image link which says “src- unknown”, so possibly related as there would be no source if no redirection has happened.

    Hi @kennywilliamson,
I don’t know how rankmath works, I never used it, I use Redirection and Phoenix Media Rename create redirection using that plugin, but only if the user has activated the option “create 301 redirections” in the setting page.

I will install rankmath on my development server to check the issue, I’ll let you know when an update will be ready.

    Thank you for reporting.

    Thanks for that C.

I have deleted so long as i also had another issue with a custom taxonomy which started showing urls, whereas previousl it only had a name (linked name).

Went back daily till 4 days back on backups and it was back to normal.

Couldnt work out what the issue is and didnt have a lot of time.

Wanted to use Phoenix, will look at again when you advise.

    Many thanks for reply

    Hi @kennywilliamson,
I finally added a feature to create redirections using Rank Math, let me know if you find some issue.
