EasyRecipe ratings work by adding a rating widget underneath the standard WordPress comment form. Once someone leaves a comment with a rating, the ratings will show up in the recipe itself.

Is there a rating widget that you recommend?

Unfortunately none of the current rating plugins we’ve looked at are able to provide the markup necessary for Google’s review/rating rich snippet requirements and we are working on providing our own alternative system.

I’m confused…so you said I have to add a rating widget, but there isn’t one that works?? How am I supposed to get ratings to work with this plugin then?

You can add another rating widget or you can use EasyRrecipe’s rating system (if you use standard WordPress comments).

EasyRecipe’s ratings will generate the correct markup needed by Google to display ratings in rich snippets. Other ratings widgets will show a rating on the post, but won’t generate the rich snippet markup.

Just in case anyone else is looking at this trying to figure out something similar in the future…I didn’t think I had any widgets installed that would interfere with the EasyRecipe ratings feature, but the JetPack plugin contains a feature that changes the way comments are shown/handled, so with it activated the EasyRecipe ratings feature does not work. Once I deactivated JetPack, EasyRecipe ratings worked.

Hello, I’ve the RecipePlus and ratings enabled but they don’t appear problem is that my recipes are in a post item based on a theme, not an average page, probably there could be a future update for this.

Hi ! Same problem for me : I’m using Jetpack comments, and nobody can rate the recipes… Do you plan to solve it in a future update ?

The latest EasyRecipe allows self-rating i.e. rated at recipe entry time. We are working on alternative rating systems and we should have something available soon.

I know this functionality, but I prefer to submit my recipes to the reader’s ratings… I’m not objective and all my recipes will get 5 stars ??
