Hi, I am wondering if someone can either give me advice or direct me to the correct forum. I want to “redo” my blog and understand that Google will still index my old posts in perpetuity (or if anybody really knows how long it takes for deleted posts to stop being indexed, please let me know). Would it just be easier, better and simpler to just privacy-protect or “make private” all of my old posts?” I only have about 60 posts. Just wondering if anybody has any idea of the best way to go about this sort of thing. Thanks!

  • I’m not sure how long Google indexes posts, but I think that it’s ok to delete them if you no longer want that content. Once the pages lead to 404 pages, they will simply drop and won’t show near the top. I don’t think that you will be penalized for this. I also think that for you, it will be easier then setting them as private.
