Re-install previous version

If you have backups, yes.

The only thing I didn’t back up was the database.

Please don’t shout at me! ??

I have all the other files.

The files are just about useless as they don’t change when using wordpress and you can also get another copy of the files.

Now the database is where everything is held and if you dont have a backup not to much you can do.

What’s the problem your having most likely somebody knows how to fix it here.

Next time use these directions to upgrade.

I’m really frustrated because I’d been really careful the previous times without any problems.

Ok I have the following issues:

I am getting a couple of errors that I think relates to the style.

Firstly, I’ve lost my chicklets in my middle sidebar – they don’t exist anymore – although I have the code in a file, and my content has moved from the left hand sidebar to the middle! (How can I rectify that).

Secondly, in K2 options I have:

WordPress database error: [Table ‘spiring_wrdp1.wp_categories’ doesn’t exist]
SELECT cat_ID, cat_name FROM wp_categories

Thirdly I can’t add any modules to my sidebars at all. I tried creating new ones and when I press add – they appear to have been created – but they are not there.

I have posted the above on the K2 forum – but no one seems able to help.

The plugins I am using:

i) Akismet 2.0.2
ii) Contact Form ][ 2.0.13
iii) Disable WP Widgets 1.0
iv) Feedburnerfeedsmith 2.2
v) Sidebarwidgets 1.2.12007 (Although it doesn’t work error: Fatal error: Cannot redeclare register_sidebars() in /home/spiring/public_html/blog/wp-content/plugins/widgets/widgets.php on line 22) (Although someone has said this is no longer needed in the new version)

Sidebar Widget plugin does not work with 2.3. Deactivate and delete that plugin. 2.3 has native widgets you can use.

wp_categories is not a table in WordPress. You will need to update or find a 2.3 compatible theme.

Yes. Switch to another theme.
