Re-Order Main Menu

  • I am making a custom WordPress website for a friend. I am trying to re-order the menu items I have created so far. Inside the menu items are defined as categories. Is there someway to define the order of the categories? How does one re-order the categories and thus menu items?

    Any ideas? Thanks

  • Categories are automatically ordered alphabetically.

    You might be able to write a PHP script that would reorder the output, but it might be easier to just manually code your menu with your categories (if you don’t plan on adding more).

    I’m not sure about what you mean that the menu items are defined as categories.

    You could set up your menu by using subpages (which can be ordered) and then use a plugin like page links to to go to the category of interest.
