• Good Day All, i’ve been trying to figure out why i can’t make edits to certain pages.

When i click on “Pages” and select the page i want to edit, the page is blank pretty much(as if i’m creating a new page), I also realize that the when i click on Customize, it only allows me to customize “Menus”

I’m hoping that these screenshots will help.

So this is the site, and i’d like to make changes to the area in the circle…infact no text on this page can be edited.

Whenever i go into the edit page section it’s blank

I’ve searched high and low to find where i could make changes to the page but no luck, even checked database and still nothing.

any help would be greatly appreciated!
PS: I inherited the site(which is also a very old site) and was asked to make some edits to it`

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

This is the info for your theme:

    /*
    Theme Name: WebFlow
Description: WebFlow is a agency and corporate theme. Its simple and clean WordPress HTML5 & CSS3 Theme. Its a full responsive theme built with Bootstrap.

You can contact them at https://themeple.co/contact-us/

I have a strong suspicion that your theme is too out of date to work with WP 5.7.2.

To test this hypothesis, change the theme to one of the twentyxxxx themes that ship with WP. Can you then edit pages normally? If so, then you need to either find a more recent version of your theme or find another.

It’s also possible that if there is a theme-related error, it might be visible in debug logs. Check the error log on your server. If you can’t find the log, please contact your host.

Meantime, enable wp_debug and wp_debug_log and after an error, look at wp-content/debug.log to see if anything gets logged there. https://www.ads-software.com/support/article/debugging-in-wordpress/

the error was happening from WordPress version 4.x.x when i took over control, so i updated thinking it might have fixed it. i’ve also tried contacting the theme developers but no response. sigh

Also i tried a new theme and i noticed that All the info that i’d want to edit went missing. which would mean i would have to rebuild the website from scratch.

Paste what you see when you attempt to edit a page into a reply…. we don’t need the entire log, so pay attention to timestamps.

Back to troubleshooting: This may be a plugin or theme conflict. Please attempt to disable all plugins, and use one of the default (Twenty*) themes. If the problem goes away, enable them one by one to identify the source of your troubles.

If you can install plugins, install “Health Check”: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/health-check/ On the troubleshooting tab, you can click the button to disable all plugins and change the theme for you, while you’re still logged in, without affecting normal visitors to your site. You can then use its admin bar menu to turn on/off plugins and themes one at a time.

It looks like you have critical system level things out of date. I’d start here: https://www.ads-software.com/support/update-php/
