• Hi. We’ve been using Wordfence with WAF. I think i’ve disabled it; however, it looks like there are remnants of Wordfence WAF in .user.ini, htaccess, and php.ini. When I just deleted those lines for WordPress, my backend seemed to have completely broken. I have since restored it, however, how do I do a clean uninstallation? Is there something I have to do?

Hi @adassets, thank-you for getting in touch!

For uninstalls or deactivation, we do offer the option to, “Delete all Wordfence tables and data” that should also reverse the optimization without having to manually deal with cleaning up plugin files or making advanced changes.

If a more manual approach has been taken or there are issues with permissions, we do try to cover all necessary steps in our documentation for your reference:?https://www.wordfence.com/help/advanced/remove-or-reset/#remove-or-reset

    Many thanks,
    Peter.

    Hi Peter:

Thanks for your quick reply. So I did deactivate and did delete “Delete all Wordfence tables and data”. It looks like there are still remnants of code pertaining to wordfence waf in .htaccess & .user.ini. It also looks like it left a file wordfence-waf.php on the parent folder of our site. Will all these be deleted and site working, only after I uninstall?
