Reaching WordPress Site Subscribers

  • Do all subscribers to WordPress sites get notified of new posts automatically? I haven’t found an optimal solution to bring subscribers to the sites into a mailing list.

  • No, they don’t.
    If they use RSS, they still have to check the RSS feed.
    If they read the site, they still have to check the site.
    Any mailing list you do should be opt-in anyway and preferably external to your site, so just put the sign-up somewhere on your site and see who joins.
    (The reason that mailing lists are better done externally is because web servers are not set up to be mail servers, and don’t handle all the bounces and blacklists and analytics that a good mail server does.)
