    Hi
I have recently installed a new theme called: Gridsby for my blog.
I customized it just using the ‘customize tab’, because I can’t work with HTML. But I have a small problem. I really just want to show the picture of my blog post on the homepage. In the past all I had to do was: insert the read more tag when I was writing my blog post.
With this new theme, I can choose for post content between the ‘Excerpts’ or the ‘full content’ button. But here is the problem: I can’t choose ‘Excerpts’ because it will only show the title and the read more button of the blog post, so no picture. If I choose the ‘full content’ button, I’m showing the whole blog post, which isn’t what I want either. So now I have to insert the read more tag, to only show the picture, but right under the tag, I also have the ‘read more’ button that was included in this theme.
So it literally looks like this:
So my question is: how can I only show the picture of my blog post on the homepage, without having to insert the ‘read more tag’ after my blog post but still keep ‘the read more button’ that was included in this theme? So I want to get rid of this Continue reading %s ?, and keep this: READ MORE and only show the picture of the blog post. To see the content they have to click on the ‘read more’ button.
If I have to change something in the HTML code, I will be more than happy to do that, if someone can explain me how I can change it!
I hope someone can help me, because I really don’t know how to solve this problem!
    Thank you in advance!!

  • Are you referring to this theme? – https://www.ads-software.com/themes/gridsby/

You should’ve posted the question in this section. Maybe the mods can move this thread.

I was able to replicate the issue, there is a mistake in the content.php file of this theme. There is a separate instance of the “Read More” button as well as the usual $more_link_text parameter in the the_content() function.

As a workaround, set your image as the featured image of the post. Choose to display “Excerpts” with the length set to 0.

Nope – technically not possible to move into a sub-forum (VERY unfortuantely – maybe one of these days, we hope :)! )

@jesin – can you post that mistake in the theme’s forum so they’ll see it?
