Read More is Missing

Hi everyone. This is my first time here. I set up WP for the first time this weekend and am in the process of designing the pages.

I am missing a ‘Read More’ tag under my posts in a few of my sections. If you go here you will see what I mean:

You have to click on the head in order to see more, but there really is no indication to the reader that anything more exists.

I’ve read that you would typically add a more tag when initially setting up a post with the editor, however – some of my friends are not too bright and if they ever start writing on the website I’d like this to be automatically added by default if the conditions met (for more) are ‘true.’

Can someone help me out please? I’m lost now…
