• I’ve added multiple posts and categorized them. When I click on the red “Read More” button on the main page, it brings me right back to the same page. Not sure what I’m doing wrong (or not doing, probably), but I’d like for posts in categories a, b and c to be found when you click on Featured area 1, posts from categories d, e and f to be found when you click on Featured area 2, etc. What do I have to do?

  • Can you provide a link to your website?

Hi Sorry, the site is https://www.thriftycanadian.dreamhosters.com/ but I think I’ve figured it out.

I went into Appearance> Theme Options> Homepage Content. There I found the words “link to a page” in small letters. ?? I’d seen it before but couldn’t figure out what to do with it. That was because all my posts and pages that I have made have been published privately. Therefore, none of the pages I’d created were appearing as a choice in the pull-down menu. Now that I’ve made them public, I am able to choose which page the button links to, and all is well.

Makes perfect sense. Glad it worked out. ??

As for the various categories appearing under different Featured Areas, I think it’s easiest if I make the first page static, and the most updated category blog-style. For now anyway, until I get the hang of the basics. If anyone has some easy suggestions, I’d gladly take them. I’m not a web designer at all although I catch on to things pretty quickly.
