• Hi!
I do not know why the navigation from a post excerpt to the post page cuts off about 3-5 lines of the continuing copy of the post.

You will notice when clicking a blog post excerpt on the blog page at “continue reading” that after it has navigated, what you see is missing a few lines of the additional part of the post copy.

For example, if you click on the bottom of the most recent post: Part #1 – Funding For Smes In A Sustainability/Circular Economy (Ce)

It lands 3-5 lines below the beginning of the next paragraph. Which means that after clicking “continue reading” a viewer does not see the beginning of the next paragraph of the post.

Is there a way to fix this? Do I need to change the Menu settings just above the post page or what?

    I am using twenty seventeen
    I browse on Chrom
My operating system is a Mac Mini
I am very very new to CSS, etc.

    Hi! Michael,
Thank you very much for directing me to that codex. I had looked there, but I did not notice what you pointed out.
    1. If I decided to use the code, is the functions.php in my cpanel files? I do not know enough to know where functions.php is.
    2. And if I use that, will it apply to all posts?
    3. HOWEVER, I really do not want to get rid of the scroll completely.
I just want it to start 3-5 lines further up at the beginning of the next paragraph after the “read more” and that is not happening now in any of the posts where I use the read-more. Do I understand correctly that I can not do this? I noticed in the codex “the named anchor (#more-000)”. Can’t I just change the number there?

In this case you need to wait until WordPress version 5.0 for this fix; https://core.trac.www.ads-software.com/ticket/42598

    OK, Andrew,

In the meantime, I will just move the paragraphs in question down about 3-5 lines.
Seems like we are going to have a long waite for 0.5 with Gutenberg. But I am very much looking forward to the Gutenberg part.
