Read more not working

Can you try using the “More” block instead of “Read more”? I believe this is what you’re looking for.

Hi @jewalker – just taking a look at the site, and I’m not seeing where your posts are listed out at the moment – the ‘Read More’ block would only effect blog posts when they’re listed out (on like a ‘Blog’ page).

can you let me know where I’d be able to see that to take a look?

You’re right, I’m not using posts, just hoping to achieve a similar effect with pages. Perhaps it can’t be done?

Sorry, it wasn’t clear as I was trying out a different theme. I have switched back to Twenty Seventeen. When you view the Home page, is it possible to have exerpts/read-more for ‘Front Page Section’ 1, 2, 3 and 4 which are set in the Customizr theme options?

Hi @jewalker – thanks for explaining ?? So is the issue that the FULL content of those pages is showing when it is pulled through to the front page of the site?

One thing you could try is opening the Customizer (Appearance > Customize) and going to Content Options. There’s a toggle there to use excerpts instead of full content of posts/pages which might help.

Hi @jordesign, I can’t see any option in the Customizer (I have site identity, colours, header media, menus, widgets, homepage settings, theme options, additional css).

Dashboard>Settings>Reading is set to excerpt.

Hi @jordesign, I checked but ‘Theme Options’ only has:

Page Layout (one/two column option box), followed by

Front Page Section 1-4 Content (dropdown boxes to select a page)

Hi @jewalker – taking a look at my demo copy of TwentySeventeen – I see a Content Options section in the Customizer – and then this section at the top to select the excerpt.

Does that section show for you in your install? If not – could you please share a screenshot?

‘Content options’ is not there, for some reason.

To be honest, I’m happy to leave it as Victoria is thinking of using Squarespace now.
