Read More split not working in feeds… Please help!

  • I’ve been wrestling with a problem that’s driving me crazy, and I’d really appreciate some help. I’m trying to get the More split to show up in my feeds, but it’s just not working. The blogs I’m trying it with are:

    https://fandomania.com
    and
    https://mechazilla.com

    The More tag works fine on the site itself, but it does nothing to the articles in the feed. I have tried looking at the generated XML, messing with Feedburner controls, and digging through the WordPress code but can’t find anything. Please help!

    I still haven’t found a soultion to this one. Can anyone please give me some help or at least point me in the right direction?

    this feature was discontinued in 2.5. I’m sure a plugin will be developed soon to get it back where it was.

    For the time being, you can just set your options to “partial feed”, which will publish the excerpt (either the first X number of characters, or the text you specify in the “optional excerpt” field on the write post panel.

    Thank you very much for clearing that up for me. I’ve been beating my head against the wall for a couple of days over this. I’ll keep an eye out for a plugin. Thanks again!
