Hello, been a keen user of your plugin and like it a lot.

However, I am getting a false positives on the reading ease when utilizing 3rd party plugins that use square brace tags in the content body. e.g. [wpPluginTag id=234373]

Would it be possible to add an exception to the plugin to not give a reading score between square braced elements?

In order to better assist you, we’ll need more information. Can you please let us know the relevant plugin name that you’re currently using for the Shortcode?

In addition, can you please explain the issue you’re experiencing step by step? What exactly happened when you add the shortcode to your content?

    Hi there,

I am using “WP Google Maps” Pro and Gold addons. The basic version functions the same but limits the amount of personalized maps.

    Steps:

    1. Writing in visual editor the post optimizing the keyword usage title, slug, headings caption and images.
    2. Writing in visual editor and keeping the readability good with sentence and paragraph structure to an optimum. Score shows green.
    3. To insert map, I switch to text editor. Paste the customized map shortcode for the WP Google Maps plugin to show in the post. Switch back to visual editor. Update draft. Reading score turns amber. If I delete the shortcode for the map the rating returns to green.

I’ve been testing this out for a couple of months and it is consistent. I assume it is a false positive, but I would ideally like to be able to add an exception to the SEO plugin so that I can use it as a more reliable guide in the future.
