Readers can't comment…help!

    My readers are getting an error message when they try to comment. It says:

    ERROR: JavaScript and Cookies are required in order to post a comment. Please be sure Javascript and Cookies are enabled in your browser. Then, please hit the back button on your browser and try posting your comment again. (you may need to reload the page.

    It also says that I might have a technical problem (plugin conflict or misconfiguration).

    Has anyone had this happen or do you have any suggestions? I was able to do a test comment myself.

    Yeah, I tried to make a comment, then after submitting the form I got that error. I do have JavaScript and Cookies enabled. I even tried to allow 3rd party cookies. The website is creating the cookies.

    I am actually being sent a 403 response along with that page. Is it triggering a spam response or security trigger?

    Have any spam or security plugins installed?

    Thanks so much for looking into it. I was wondering why I wasn’t getting comments anymore (not that I had a lot). Yes, I have a hunch it might be my WP-Spamshield plugin? Or maybe Wordfence Security. I was getting a ton of spam and slow load queries so my web host deactivated my blog so I added these two plug-ins.

    I don’t use either of those. I use https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/anti-spam/ along with Akismet.

    Might try disabling one then the other to see if it works. Should be able to log out of your own blog and then try to make a comment.

    I will try that and look into your anti-spam plugin. Only problem is I was able to log out and post. But I can have a friend try for me. Thank you.
