• Hello, I have been using WordPress for my blog for well over a year and never had any problems. Today a reader contacted me to notify me that she can no longer leave comments. A friend in the UK had a similar problem and it took WP a week to sort things out. Is this a known problem in Europe now? If not, any idea on where to start with a fix?
    Merci!

Sorry? WordPress is just an application. We cannot “sort out” problems on your self-hosted WordPress site. You have to do that.

    Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new ones.

    esmi,
I am not sure what happened, but here is a link to her blog with a screenshot of the email she received from Kris at WordPress. According to the email, at the time (a few weeks ago) it was clearly a WordPress issue and could not be fixed by people running fixes on their self-hosted sites.

Which is why I wrote in asking if it is now a problem in Europe.

The site you quoted above is a wordpress.com site. These forums are for self-hosted WordPress sites only.
