    Hi @ilcontroverso,

Thank you for choosing our post blocks plugin. You can easily control read time from meta setting. See the screenshot https://prnt.sc/szsirr.

I hope your problem will be solved. If you have any more question let me know. If you are satisfied with our support then give us a five-star review in the WordPress directory. As a new plugin developer, it helps us a lot.

I believe I have the same issue. The Reading Time meta over-calculates the estimate as *double to triple* the average reading time in reality.

For example: On my site (https://www.mychinaroots.com/blog/), you can see the article “8 things you didn’t know about your Chinese surname” has a 14 min reading estimate, when really, as a 1200 word article, it’s closer to a 5 min read. Another article, “Welcome to Traceable” shows a 5 min read time, when as a 500 word article, it’s closer to a 2 min read. (I am basing my time approximations on the Hemingway website)

Can you please update the calculation for the Reading Time meta to be more accurate? Thanks!

    Hi @ccchoo,

Thank you for choosing our Post Blocks Plugin. We already told about this feature to our development team. I hope they will take care about your issue.

    have a nice day.

    Hi,

On the same topic, I would like to ask if there can be a revision on the calculations for different languages like spanish.

I kind of think that the UTF is not set up correctly so the accents count like extra characters/words??? I dont know it is just the same article translated returns a very long read time.

    Thanks

I hadn’t considered that! The articles on my site have accented characters (for Asian languages) as well. Good theory for the dev team to check.

Have a nice day and waiting for your feedback.

Works for me! I do notice a small bug in post preview mode, where the reading time shows longer estimates within the Gutenberg post editor. But the published post shows the correct time. Thanks for your quick attention!
