• Just wondering if anybody out there is working on a plugin to display IDX feed (MLS listings) in a WP blog. I seem to be getting requests lately to develop sites for real estate brokers. It may be possible for me to get someone to pay for such a plugin to be developed.

I’m hoping Roger Theriault will see this as it would be a great addition to his Great Real Estate plugin, which currently does not seem to support display of listings from incoming feeds, although it does send exclusive listings out through outbound real estate feeds, which is nice.

    Thanks

  • I have another comment. I posted early on in this forum to show people that IDX Broker is a good solution for them and their clients. The WP-Realty people decided to jump on and discredit something they no nothing about. You think that coming on here, showing a little code makes you look good (or smart)with the hope that maybe a few people will be fooled.

Your comments also discredit the intelligence of the people reading this form.

Also, above in my post, which I was typing out of shear anger, the META Keywords are irrelevant.

Also, if you know WordPress, than you know that you can customize your theme to have targeted META Descriptions.

And for you Chad, to nip your question in the bud! We did not do it on the websites you mentioned because we are number one and two under 90% of our primary search words and we have been for 6 months!

Personally, I did check it out before investing in anything and it pretty much came down to two options….IDX built into wordpress or a full blown RE Site with Real Estate Webmasters. RE Webmasters is super expensive and I already love wordpress and would much rather go with a site that I could easily add to without having to contact the company anytime I wanted to tweak something. A custom website with Real Estate Webmasters is $8k upfront plus the monthly IDX, and even a standard template site with them is $5k.

I also would hardly call something a “bait & switch” that is very inexpensively priced and does everything RE Webmaster will do without having to pay $4,400 a year for IDX when IDX in WordPress is only $720 a year ($60/month)….huge savings! That kind of money saved is good common sense, not bait & switch.

    @djmorrisinc:

NicPub didn’t say Bait and Switch, he said “Bait and Hook”. I also didn’t know RE Webmasters actually builds IDX enabled WordPress sites, and if they are, your numerical analysis is nonetheless interesting. IMHO they are too expensive no matter how they are delivering content.

@wprealty salesmen, alts, followers, and kool-aide drinkers:

Please stop spamming every forum or blog you can find with your played-out, overly-dramatic sales pitches and self-indulgent testimonials. Good luck with your real estate oriented Rube Goldberg Device for WordPress.

    @jared Ritchey
To address the question of my being banned from blogs, I can safely say you have me mistaken with someone else. I ordinarily lurk and don’t post very often except to post reviews, critiques, or code snippets in some of the developer resource sites I frequent. I only sell my services to Brokers and MLS boards, so I don’t have a horse in this race like you do. I could opine in very specific detail about how one of my clients made me aware of your fledgling application and “services”, but I doubt you really want that disclosed publicly, and I certainly don’t want to have to wade through another one of your 2-page defensive rants.

I did just recently learn that you seem to have a problem with being banned from posting in a few places for your antics, so perhaps you should look in the mirror before publicly attempting such smugness.

    re-pro,
    eloquently written. Cheers!

Introducing dsIDXpress our new WordPress Plugin [Beta]

We just announced it a few days ago. More to come soon….

I am a very happy with my WordPress / IDX Broker solution. I bought a professional real estate template and did the IDX porting myself. I pay $40/month for my IDX solution and now I have 20,000 homes on my site that I can receive leads from! Please have a look and if anybody is interested in a similar solution, I’ll be happy to quote a fair price. HomeSmartIndy.com

I am just finishing up a commercial real estate site with several customizations using IDX Broker.
Take a look Panama City Commercial Real Estate

I have a few more things to ad, but looks good!

hey lawrance4 i am interested in a similar solution to your website, i am kind of lost with the idx broker integration would you we be able to quote me a price on the integration, i have not even created the site yet so if you are willing i would pay you to do the whole site if you would like. let me know

DiverseSolutions.com has a pretty good system to use with WordPress sites. Take a look at https://www.jebbdriggin.com (not wordpress) to see how the searches and results work.

OK, I’m finally getting around to posting here… Been busy lately.

Our company, HomeQuest (https://homequestgroup.com) has developed a full map based property search/CRM solution that now includes a WordPress IDX plugin. The owner of HomeQuest is also the Founder of M-Realty here in Portland. So, the software is built “by the people, for the people” if you will. We’ve been using it in various forms for roughly 5 years, and will be releasing the actual WordPress IDX plugin in the next couple weeks.

I don’t want to go on and on about all the details of the software, or the plugin. You can check it out on the HQ site mentioned above. Or visit the demo site directly at https://wordpressidxplugin.com. February 1st is the official launch date.

If you have questions, or feedback, feel free to contact me:
@jbern on twitter or jeff (at) pdxhomequest.com

    Thanks everyone!

The banter is enjoyable to read, but how about a checklist of what a Google indexed IDX SHOULD look like? If I new what to look for (i.e. no sub domains, built in XML site map generator, unbranded, external IDX data links etc.) then I could inquire with the companies themselves to determine who is the real deal. Would any developers / company owners or SEO guys/gals like to chime in on what a great IDX “Google indexed” platform should consist of? (#1-10 for example would be great!). I would suggest two formats, one IDX platform with WordPress, and one without. I am in the market, and I am a buyer for the latest, greatest technology… but I am unsure who has it right now. Cheers to all.

P.s. How important is it that the data is pulled from Google database?

(P.s.s The word “new” in my post above should be spelled “knew” – I’m a stickler for grammar).

I really like Diverse Solution a lot….I have a ways to go until it’s completely finished, but I’m very happy with all their customer service and webinars they include. It is really easy to implement into wordpress.

    https://JupiterFLHomes.com

Any suggestions on which contact form is the best and most professional for Realtors?

I want everyone to know that the solution that JBern is advertising as an WordPress IDX plugin is a sham, a fake, a phoney and above all a lie. Their website https://wordpressidxplugin.com says it is a “plug-in for wordpress” but reality is that it MUST be installed with their backend. At the bottom it says “The plugin is bundled with the full version of HomeQuest the most advanced IDX back end software available. “

I dont understand why you wouldnt make that obvious at the top of the page. Your site purports “full featured IDX plugin for WordPress!” it is only mentioned at the very bottom that it is bundled with another piece of software.

The pricing for this is crazy too. WordPress (free) but this entire bundle is priced at $80 a month with a $99 setup fee. Setup fee is waived if you sign up for the 6 month plan at $480. woopeee

Once again we are going to pay insane prices for a plugin.
