• I am a user of this plugin for several years, nover had a problem. I run a powerfull dedicated server. I updated to latest 3.3.3 version, and I got I mysql process that drawning the CPU: /usr/sbin/mysqld –daemonize –pid-file=/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.pid . Immediately after deactivating the plugin, the server came back to life. It didn′t crushed the server, it made it really slow, so all the error logs were skipped. BUT, I still have mentioned the process running, I couldn′t kill it so far, and I don′t know what it means. I do confirm that it was this plugin fault, on its latest edition; maybe a compatibility issue. I don′t know. I spent all the weekend trying to figure out what was causing the server problem, since I didn′t imagine it was this plugin fault at first.

What version did you upgrade the plugin from i.e. what did you have before 3.3.3? This was a minor change only and didn’t touch the database.

Would you be able to delete the plugin from within the plugins page. It should clean-up after itself.

I don’t know how many posts you have, but if it is a big database with a huge number of posts, then you might need to do the below.

Please do backup before doing so. Next, can you check your database and run these queries in the screenshot below. You need to ensure that if you aren’t using the wp_ prefix to change it to what you’re using. You can also copy it from the plugins Tools page if you’re able to access it when running.

It’s also worthwhile running the repair table within phpMyAdmin if that’s what you’re using to access the DB.

And, then reinstall the plugin and immediately go to the settings page and enable to plugin’s inbuilt cache.

Another thing worth trying is to disable the contextual matching in the List tuning and enable the categories/tags settings so that the plugin uses probably a slightly less intensive query.

I appreciate your answer and orientations, I really do, and I am thankful to you for all your work, it has been a fantastic plugin, and hopefully this is just one case.

I made the upgrade from edition 3.0.7, so probably it is something related to another release. The configuration I use on the plugin, is exactly as you described. The problem appeared on two sites, one with about 9.000 posts and another with 3.000. So far the server seems to be back to normal, and I even re-installed the edition 3.0.7 on one of them, which is working fine. If you didn’t get any other alert, this might be a unique case, and I understand, there are infinitive configurations and functions working around on every level and install. But, in any case, I think it is important to go through the plugin changes. If I get any news, I will update here.
