Real streaming?

  • Hello,
    the FAQ says: “Webcam is not a real streaming but an emulation. The display is refreshed a bit more than every second.”

    Is it possible to turn this somehow into a real streaming? I.e. there is <video> tag in one direction – renCam2, would it be possible to replace <div> with <video> also for renCam?

    Hi,

    Replacing the DIV tags with VIDEO tags will not change anything, everything happens on the server side.
    To get a live audio and video stream, there is no solution without having an Icecast server or others. Rencontre is designed to run on a classic shared server, not for real streaming. Nothing is planned for that.
    Look at the plugins available on the WordPress market, none of them offer a stand-alone solution for a shared server.
