Real-Time Download Events

  • I have enabled outbound tracking, and I see real-time tracking for pages in Google Analytics. But, I never see any events for pdfs (I’ve made sure I’ve included the file extension). I looked that the page source, and I see that a GA event is around my PDF link, so I assume that it’s correct.

    When I go to Behavior > Events > Top Events in GA, I see 4 events (listed below), but no ‘download’ events. I think that’s what I would expect, no?

    Sorry, kinda new to this and trying to learn. Hopefully I’m just overlooking something easy. Oh, and if it helps the pdf link is on the page below. I have tried loading the pdf as a new page and on the current page with no change in behavior. I am not using relative links. I have not modified any plugin code as some solutions (> 6 months old) have suggested.
