• I found this message after updating events manager:

“There is a newer version of Events Manager Pro which is recommended for this current version of Events Manager as new features have been added. Please go to the plugin website and download the latest update.”

Am I to understand that the version of events manager pro, purchased more than a year ago will not work properly unless I buy the latest version?

    re-reading your previous comments;

To be more specific: when I click on the bookings item, “Events Bookings Dashboard”, under the “Recent Events” bookings page, under the column heading “Names”, I see nothing.

would it be possible to share sample screenshot with this issue for us to analyze?

    Sure … no problem.

hmm, could it be that you deleted the user assigned to the bookings since you are not using no-user booking mode from the beginning?

Not possible. The only thing that happened in between working and not working was, as I mentioned before, that I updated to the latest release of EM.

If you access the database directly can you see the names?

    I performed the following experiment.

I down-reved EM to 5.5.7.1 and the table displayed the names correctly.
Then I up-reved to 5.6 and the names disappeared.

This demonstrates that 1) the names are still in the database, and 2) something changed between 5.5.7.1 and 5.6 to cause the “name” column in the booking table to be stop displaying names.

    Hi Caimin,

Doesn’t the above POST demonstrate that the names are in the DB?

    It does.

I’ve had another look at the changelog from 5.5.7.1 through to 5.6 and I can’t see anything that would be related to this. I’m also not aware of anyone else reporting this issue or anything similar.

That doesn’t help you much, I know, but it’s why we’re having a problem working out what the problem is.

It would be worth testing 5.6.2 with all other plugins deactivated and while running the default theme. I think it’s unlikely there’s a conflict causing this but you never know…

Do you have any plugins / code running that relate to user accounts / memberships, etc.?

I finally found the time to deactivate all my plugins … except events manager and events manager pro. The problem continued to persist. So far the only way to make the problem go away is to back down to EM 5.5.7.1

Do you guys test each release of EM against all previous releases of EMPro?

If I purchase the latest EMPro AND it fixes my problem, can I get a refund? ??

I think given we’re unable to replicate the problem and this seems to an issue unique to your installation (because no one else has reported anything similar), the only workaround at the moment would seem to be to switch back to 5.5.7.1.

I fixed the problem by turning off the em_booking_table_rows_col filter. The code comments indicated that it was deprecated, so there didn’t seem to be much harm in doing it. The only place it is used is in events-manager-pro. I checked all the functions hooked to that filter and determined that I did not add any customizations.

I would love to know how the latest update caused this issue, but I have wasted too many hours already.
