    Hello ??

I’ve got a blog (saharmedfa.com) that I registered and bought the domain etc. through WordPress; but I wanted to add a theme from Themify- so I got an account with Bluehost to self host my account from now… At least this is what I understood from the WordPress help section on what to do…!! Lol- not sure I’ve done any of this right ??

Anyway- I got my account with Bluehost and I went to my cPanel to install WordPress through Simple Scripts. So far, so good. But now when I get the option of either installing a domain or importing a domain, I chose importing a domain because I’ve already bought my domain and have a blog with WordPress. So I entered my domain (saharmedfa.com) to *import* it… And I keep getting saying that Bluehost can’t reach the import domain to process the import…

Help please ?? I’m really confused!! My domain seems to be working fine- I can’t understand why this is happening, and I think I’ve followed the directions WordPress provided… I’m sure it must a simple mistake as I’m really new to all this… Any help would be seriiiiiiously appreciated because I’m really lost here.

    Thank you so much! ??

  • Please choose the other option viz. installing a domain. Import is when you had earlier wordpress site installation on the domain.

    Hi!

Thanks for the quick reply! ??

I’ve tried that as well- but I tried it again just now and I’m still encountering a couple of problems.

At the top of the page it asks ‘where would you like WordPress installed’ and gives what I’m assuming is a temp directory with some numbers preceding it- but in the box beside this I just entered my domain name: saharmedfa.com

But after hitting Complete, I get two warnings, one red and one yellow:

The red one reads: Oops! Directory exists! Are you sure you want to overwrite its contents.
And the yellow one reads: Oops! Your domain is not currently pointing to your host, so we will use your temporary domain.

    What’s going on? Lol ??

It takes a couple of days for your nameservers to propagate through the web, therefore the concept of temp server comes into play.

When I go to your blog, everything looks up and running.

Answer Red one: Overwrite the contents
dont worry about the yellow ones till they turn red ?? ??

Awesome…!!! ?? ?? I accepted and hit complete!! And now when I’m trying to access my site through another laptop it’s actually taking me there, which is wasn’t before…

    Thanks a lot!! ??

    Pleasure dear.
