Really frustrated with Stats

I am so frustrated with Stats b/c no matter how I set my settings, WP STILL counts my own visits to my blog, rendering the whole thing useless. I am running wp.org latest version and using wp.com stats. I have my settings checked to NOT count logged in users, but that doesn’t matter, it behaves the same whether that box is checked or not. I have tried it both ways. Any suggestions from a more experienced user out there?
