Really helped in reducing the page JS size
-
I like to embed videos on my blog, which really helps in boosting average time spent by visitors. But embedding video using WordPress’s native YouTube embed widget was resulting in 50+ extra requests to servers and 1.38MB of JS on my page. I was looking for a solution and then came across WPCrafter video on YouTube. At first I wasn’t expecting there would be any major improvement, but anyway I installed the plugin and tested it one one of my blog posts – did a pagespeed insight analysis before changing to Presto – and another pagespeed insight after switching and clearning cache. To my surprise, it really worked. Helped slashing down JS significantly and bringing TBT down to 800ms (it was a whooping 2000ms before). Great plugin.
One thing I would like to add though – while installing the plugin, I saw a notice that it’s not be tested with my version of WordPress. So, I would recommend regular updates to the plugin to give that confidence to the new users.
